How To Reach An Audience Through Blogging

Disclaimer: This blog is written by a person who has minute knowledge of the blogging world with limited amount of vocabulary. Grammar wise - not good but readable.

A blog is a medium for someone to write a lot of stuffs, ranging from writing their personal experience, giving tips, writing about hobbies and interests, opinions on politics or economies to marketing their products (i.e: cupcakes, clothes, accessorizes).

As an amateur blogger, I personally think that there are some ways in reaching more people to read your blog. There are ways that can make that blog of yours popular and can even get more than 100 hits per day.

First is through your writing. It doesn't have to be very poetic (as not all are Shakespeare) nor having bombastic words for each phrase. Your writing must be simple and easy to understand. If you use certain jargons, you need to be aware that you are writing for all people to read. For example, if you're a doctor, try not use so many medical terms. Don't be too technical on your writing. Blogging is like conveying messages, so writing in jargons just to make you look genius will only create confusion therefore no one wants to read your blog.

Second is the length of your blog. If it is too lengthy, people will get tired reading your blog. Get to the point. If you have so many things to write, try to make few posts instead of one. For example, if you want to write about your holiday in Bali, you can split it up into each day of your holiday, or write separately for each place you went.

Put pictures in your blog. Sometimes by having some pictures together with your writing, it creates more fun in your blog.

What makes a blog a hit is actually the content of the blog itself. Well to me, it also depends on the target audience. If you just want to write about crappy stuffs, your daily routine, well then maybe your target audience will only be your friends and relatives. If you want to get a bigger audience, you might want to spice it up by writing something deeper than your sappy love story. Everyone has opinion on everything (well I have), so why not write something you see on the street, latest news, latest inventions and what not. If you came across some websites that is worth sharing, you can post it in your blog. You can also give tips and advices on things that you can say it are your forte. If you love fashion, you can write about the dos and donts in wearing leggings. If you are into gadgets, you can write about what's latest and what's popular now.

If you are selling products through your blog, make sure it is accesible. I think everyone owns Facebook right? Yes, there's even an article saying that Malaysians have the largest number of friends in Facebook. So you can put your blog address at your Facebook account, announce it every now and then at your statusesor send links to your friends. In other words, sell your blog.

Finally, an eyesore blog is a no no blog. You can have all those nice backgrounds with cute little birds and bees or rainbows but having too many colours and all those blinking word arts, you will only make those blog hoppers visit your blog once. Trust me, less is more.

Training at BeST (1st day)

Ok, so today is my first day here, at UNIRazak, Capital Square. I am here for training under Biotech Corp. which is called Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training (BeST). yes, I'll be here in CapSquare for three months. i hope everything will go well. i hope i can make new friends, gain more knowledge and just have fun while doing it.

Some say it's not worth my time joining this training, with the allowence of only RM1000/mth. but hey, it's better than nothing right? people need to pay for education but i am payed to learn. so i have got nothing to lose here. plus, it's here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and CapSquare itself has its own shopping mall (cafes and cinema). and the best part is, it's near LRT station (Dang Wangi). i can travel by LRT to go here and i am an LRT person. i have been on LRT since my high school years, and i think it's hassle free. now they have extended their coaches to four, so i think it'll cut more time queing to get in.

so yeah, no complaint. weeheee.....

i think i might had offended someone unintentionally. and it has been bugging me. i am truly sorry.

that someone, is a dear to me. i am not at ease. i am not.

ok so now everyone is relying on Paul the Octopus for the final match since he was right in predicting all the germany's games. haha what's up with animals n oracle? i heard there's a country using a hippopotamus as the oracle! hahahahha. can i use the catfish in my pond to predict who will win the World Cup? or maybe my neighbours' cats who constantly visit my house. :p

and as a devoted Germany's fan, i will make fried maggi (read: Puyol, si pemusnah dari spain) with octopus for lunch. ahhh, it has been awhile since i ate baby octopus at Sushi King, it's about time.

Klose -- Villa

it's 5.07am and i am not asleep yet. (lepas subuh baru tido, so God knows when im going to wake up. haha!)

to be honest, this is the 1st time i stayed up to watch football. yes, not just World Cup but football match in general. and it was worth it! the 10pm match, my fav team, Germany won!!!! 4- telur ayam to Argentina. AWESOME POSSUM. haha si gemuk Maradona boleh bawak your team balik kampung bye-bye~ even though im supporting the Germans, i think that Argentina played well too. they still tried to score a goal even when they're four goals behind. played to the fullest until the very end. main separuh mati! that's the spirit we want. TEVEZ ko xyah la ngamuk2 selalu. cabut cekak tu kang baru tau. i loved how the Germans controlled the ball. and KLOSE, ur the man!! u shud have scored three goals barulah hat trick mcm HIGUAIN tu. hehe. overall, great game!!!


2am match - Spain VS Paraguay. ok i slept after the 10pm game (ended around midnite). and i woke up 15-20mins after the game started. mamai2 lagi... fell asleep until after half time. yes, minit ke-52 baru saya segar bugar sebenarnye. (post kat facebook agak menipu sbb x tulis saya tgk tertido2. :p ) ok lepas tu tgk dgn penuh konsentrasi! this game pun awesome jugak, even though some said spain didnt play that well and if they were to play like this against Germany, they will surely lose to them. okla, the game was not bored. laju la diorang main. byk cubaan gol dilakukan. so im happy. hehe. i came to like the Spain team after i watched few of their matches before. i like the way they passed the ball. i mean, im no expert in football or a fan who knows everything including who's playing at which team, transfer team berapa juta pound, which position they play, left or right winger, whether they're a defender/ mid fielder / striker semua tu... but somehow Spain just amazed me. that's why i decided to stay up and watched them play tonite. WORTH IT!

haha got free kick from both team tapi dua2 kena saved by the goalie. damn terer gila both goalies!!! i salute!

VILLA, the savior. and papa thinks that he is good looking (after he scored the goal, of course. haha!)

when i was little i guess i have a bit of hearing problems. and mixing up words too. one time, my parents told me they wanted to go to Jalan Raja Laut and i was supposed to stay at home with my maid. but being me, so mengada2 i told them i wanted to come along. since it was almost midnite, i fell asleep during the journey. once we got there, my dad said, 'audi, wake up, we're here'. i woke up, looked around, and talked with an angry voice, 'kata nak pegi TEPI LAUT???'

this year, many predict Spain will win. but we know Spain usually dont have the luck. they always send the strongest team, have almost all the top players but as i said earlier, luck has never been on their side. poor thing. maybe 2010 will change all that.

and what's up with you England? 1-1 with the States? memalukan! well yeah Beckham (konon) and Ferdinand are injured and cudnt play but still....a draw? korang boleh bantai U.S mcm mana Germans bantai Australians 4-0 la. it's supposed to be easy to win over countries who called football as soccer. maybe sebab Beckham pernah main utk L.A Galaxy, now the americans lagi terer la kot? haha.

really? that loud?

i am aware that when ur in a public transportation, let it be bus or LRT, silence is something you will never get. unless of course, u sorang2 je la dalam tu, atau pun naik almost midnight yg memang sikit orang. what annoys me is when someone speaks loudly on the phone (macam dorang kat kelab malam music kuat gila so ckp jerit2) without really care of the surrounding. hellooooo, awak tu kat tempat awam kot, perlu ke cakap sampai sebatu boleh dgr? perlu ke cakap nak bagi satu LRT tu dengar?

i used to go kl-kuantan /kuantan-kl by bus. i think buses' seats nowadays are comfortable, even compared to air asia seats. that's why i dont mind traveling by bus. kembali kepada tujuan sebenar entry -- there are also lotsa ppl who talk like bas tu bapak dia yg punya, and it's worst because ur in that 3-4 hours of journey with that bloody ppl! one time, i sat in the middle, my left side, pakcik berdengkur. my right side, this one girl, wow bergaya dgn beg lui vuton (sengaja eja salah because i know her bag is fake LV!) tapi mak aihh, cakap mcm nak bagi cermin tingkap bas tuh pecah je. honey, i know ur bored, but u dont have to freakin call everyone in ur contacts just to kill time. u kill my sleep! not to be racist, but amoi aa, u punya suara pitching manyak kuat oo, annoying juga. saya aa, lagi sakit kepala oo.

even pakcik berdengkur (kuat gila gak la) x se-annoying suara amoi tu. well u cant help when ur snoring...maybe that's why i didnt mind that much.

break up season?

macam durian n manggis lak ada musim. hoho. but true, it seems like now is break up season. there're....*counting* 5 ppl which are close to me yang baru broke up with pasangan masing2. plus statuses at facebook, many wrote about heart breaks la, marah2 la apa. hmm...takpe, tunggu musim mengawan la pulak. rawrrr.... hahaha.

on the other note, i've been single for 5 years. lama kann menjanda! mungkin saya memilih. mungkin. tapi saya rasa mmg xde orang nak je kat saya. like, betul2 nak. you know, yang ada extra effort untuk mengorat saya, not only flirt2 through ym or sms. a quote from a movie, He's Just Not That Into You, 'i can't text. i'm not charming via text'. this is so me!

talking bout that movie, i know my NEIL will appear one day (ameen). GIGI is one character that represents many girls in the real world. and i wish i will never have to deal with problems involving ANNA.

tanam anggur / kerja / sambung belajar?

i have not decide what my future will be. work? pursue master? or pursue something totally out of my six years (make it 8, including 2 years in high school) of study. read: biology.

i have been telling people that i want to take a break till after raya. you know, so i wont have to hassle asking my boss for raya leave. orang baru kerja susah sket dapat cuti kan. macam mengada2. haha. but the truth is, i am searching for jobs and i am hoping to get any interviews just so my life will be seen as more worth living. haha.

and about cont masters degree in university malaya, i will think about it. the utmost reason why i am so in doubt of pursuing my masters degree there is the fact that my bachelor degree result is so-so. cukup makan. malu sebenarnye nak tunjuk resume, lagi2 scroll yg nilainya x seberapa tu. plus, i might end up being a lecturer, and truthfully, i think there are other people yg lagi layak to teach the future generation biology related than moi. my passion is math, not biology. if i were to be given a chance to mendidik anak bangsa, (chewah!), i will teach them maths, with all my heart and soul.

heel-less shoes??!!!!

ok, i am not a shoe expert. i am not an up-to-date girl who owns the 'it' bags, or shoes. i don't even have any designer handbags. or shoes. (i'll work my ass off to buy those later. yes, with my own money). so talking about shoes, i love high heels shoes. not that i have fetish for shoes but i think those in high heels look very feminine, lady like. suka! i was browsing through my facebook, and one status caught my eyes:

"wearing flip-flops is no different than wearing three-inch high heels.."

and i replied, "..only when ur walking on a fluffy red carpet!...."

while replying the status, i remembered Victoria Beckham with all her craziness in super thin high heel shoes, so i google-ed her. there, i saw pictures of her in this ridiculously high heel shoes that no one should ever wear. yes, in fashion sense, the shoes are AH-MAYY-ZING but in the name of health, i dare no one to put on those heels! see THIS, and THIS, aanndd THIS. how can she walks comfortably in that? kughus nak mampuih la tumit tu....

but fashion does not stop there, the invention of 'heel-less' shoes arrived in such sense that if we can tiptoe our way to some place, why not doing it in style! and being Victoria Beckham who is always in for new things and a trend setter esp in shoes, she decided to wear them. yes, the heel-less shoes. and apparently other celebrities follow her 'heel-less' foot steps by buying those shoes also.

ok so yeah i just found out about it. maybe cerita basi. but i dont think anyone should wear this kind of shoes. not in million years. you're not only hurting the legs but the whole body too. enough with eating unhealthy foods, living in an unhealthy lifestyle, must we torture our body more just so we can be trendy? i dont think so. you can love fashion, but dont make yourself a fashion victim that you forget to take care of your body.

plus, these shoes are freaking expensive (USD 2000 - USD4000). why must we invest our money in those shoes when in return they give nothing but foot injuries. i rather use all that money to buy another gazillion pair of shoes than paying the medical bills.

let us just stick to flats. comfy.

SCOUTS

i miss my scouts days. good ol days. yes, i was budak pengakap yang active i went to every single camping trip, including the one in Sarawak and Thailand. Thailand was WORLD JAMBOREE yo, so it was super duper AWESOME times infinity.... i went scouts camping in Sarawak when i was 14! i am grateful to have such a supportive parents that allowed me to go that far without them or any other family members for two weeks. can u imagine, me, sleeping in a tent for two weeks?? did all whatever campers do including jungle trekking for 4-6 hours, commando training, and other stuffs.

mesti korang tak sangka i was this active kan? yes i WAS. now....err....panjat bukit sikit dah nak pengsan. jalan sikit dah penat. if possible, i want to park my car riiiggghtt in front of the door, any door. pemalas tahap dewa.

anyways, thanks to Facebook it reconnects all my scouts member and luckily they want to have a camping reunion!! after SIX YEARS living scouts behind, i can't wait for this event! meeting my all time fav teacher cum scouts supervisor, teacher Rasyidah, all the pemimpins and my fellow Gombak 16 members....wahhhh tak sabar!

kahwin - - jodoh

i went to my friend's wedding last friday. it was a bit controversial since no one actually knew the groom. and it was so sudden, like tiba2 enganged, few months later, kahwin. well the person herself byklaa kontroversinya but that's not what i want to talk about. dah settle pun and she's someone's wife now, so whatever had happen before, just put it in the past okay.

this married girl, she used to date someone for years. i mean like, 6-7 years? they were high school lovers. everyone knew this couple. and both memang rapat with each others' family. they were close with each others' family tahap yg anak buah makcik pakcik semua laa dah kenal. dah anggap one of the family jugak. to me, that kind of relationship is a serious rship and somehow mesti dah plan for future. but then, they broke up. tak tau la apa problem but they did break up. and now the girl is married to someone else. she invited her ex, and her ex was gentleman enough to come to the wedding reception. to me, he was a true man. lelaki sejati. despite what happen between them, he still came and show support to her. i don't know if it's just me (sbb semua orang cakap audi je fikir camtu), but i saw his eyes and to me, he was trying his best to look happy, but the eyes just couldn't lie. for your information, i am very good in seeing someone's eyes esp if they're trying to look fine, but instead mcm2 dalam otak. so his eyes, mcm nak nangis but he's trying to compose himself. memanglaa dah xde pape and both already move on, tapi tipula if u tak sedih one bit. it was 6-7 years of relationship kot. banyak benda they went thru together.

and what caught my eyes was the fact that her niece and nephew sangat rapat with him, asek berkepit je with him malam tu. and he was so nice to layan those kids. even bawak jalan2, bawak lepak with me and my other friends. siap dukung laa, sbb budak kecik kan majlis2 mcm ni suka merengek laa, nak tido la apa. so comel when i saw him dukung the kid. the kids siap nangis2 when he nak balik. awlolololo... and he was talking with her families, makcik pakcik, her parents. he was indeed very close to her family. well, bukan semua ada hati gagah macam tu. come to an ex wedding, talk to people whom he used to call FAMILY. that's why i said dia LELAKI SEJATI. i bow.

moral of the story, JODOH ITU DAH DITETAPKAN DI TANGAN ALLAH SWT. so it's not about how long you are together, or how close you are with the family that you can be considered as one of them, or how many hardships you went through together, or even how much love, care, time, money you give....kalau dah takde jodoh, maknanya xdela. it might sound bad, sad, unfair... but ALLAH knows better and He only give the best for us. and faith, is what we must hold on to. yakin lah Tuhan dah tetapkan jodoh yang terbaik utk kita.

fun brunch

one of my dear friends is going to Sabah to do her housemen-ship for two years. Sofina ku sayang, why laa jauh sangat nak menimba ilmu jadi doktor berjaya? huhu. anyways, since she's going to negeri di bawah bayu tomorrow, we decided to lepak together before she leave. so yesterday, me Hasanah Sofina n Dila had brunch at Austin Chase Coffee in Wangsa Walk. it was our first time, and i think the food was quite nice. ok laa, cafe pun kan. but one thing about that cafe, it has novels/magazines/newspapers that u can read, and games/board games u can play! cool kan! ada monopoly la macam2. we played Jenga. ok i admit it was my first time playing it so i was a bit nervous, and excited too. seronok laa Austin Chase ni, allowing the customers to fully relaxing themselves. reading good books while sipping coffee, playing games with friends. i'll definitely go there again next time bila ada leisure time. =)

and to my Dr. Sofina sayang, take care of yourself ok. jadilaa doktor yg berdedikasi. hehe. i'll miss you heaps!!

FUN can be gain with AWESOME FRIENDS. so even if you are in a middle of desert with nothing to do, you can still have fun with awesome company, and you would not mind to stay there for a while.

Youth '10

ok, so i went to Youth '10 at PWTC with my best friend, Hasanah. i mean, we're both can still be considered as youth so we decided to go there, saja tgk2. if bosan balik la. to me, the event was okay, considering there're lots of things and activites; covering from sports, entertainment to talk/conferences. and bazaar too. so u can play sports, watch dances (from street dance to tarian melayu), mesmerize beautiful artworks (my fav), play games like Jenga and chess (a huge one!) and shop. there was WWF booth which is nice because you can donate and do charity for the wild life.

but one thing yang tak best, i felt so old. the crowd, i think 80% bawah umur. and by bawah umur i mean bawah 21. their faces looked so young...even though Hasanah and i always been mistaken as budak bawah umur too, but we're indeed NOT. and we're actually really tired and sangat pening kepala when we were there. the loud music, the over-dressed and over-makeup young teens, not to mention the posers...oh em gee....tak larat tgk okay! bukan zaman kite dah. there were times i felt so scared like i was at some scary places (esp dekat orang2 buat graffiti, i dont know if it was just me or everyone were wearing black) i was about to cry. and those bands performing, seriously u guys gave me headache! well i think i am TOO OLD for that stuffs.

oh btw, in my opinion... :
1) gothic and orang melayu dont suit each other. tak je. so those who wear that kind of outfit, with the birdy hat, ruffles blouse, socks, gloves and black umbrella with ruffles, i demand you to change. and what's with the emo style?? ceria laa sikit hidup.

2) too many young teens wearing as if they're late 20s. tebal lapan puluh inci makeup. why do u want to add a couple of years from ur real age? you are young once. so why the rush to become an adult?

but despite all that, one guy did catch my eyes. he's cute. and i bought t-shirt from his booth. teeheehee. most importantly, he didnt look like budak bawah umur.

SO YEAH, I AM OLD AND I AM NOT FOREVER TWENTEEN. BOO.

i'll be going back to boring kuantan in less than two hours. but this time the journey will be fun i guess, since im going back with my KESAYANGAN.... hehe.

oh, yesterday was fun. hang out dgn BAITTY n AFI AIZAM, filling our tummy with Zanmai Sushi, A&W waffles and rootbeer floats, maggie goreng at mamak (eh but they lagi gemok coz they ate naan cheese with ayam tandoori). harus diet ok GO GO GO. afi ada CD lagu cintan cintun best dalam kereta. hehe.

oh not to forget, AMIRAH SURAYA ku sayang finally we met after berkurun tak jumpa. i missed you! kalau HASANAH ada mesti lagi best. huhu.

annoying

well somehow, your status (in facebook) is kind of annoying. i mean, most of it were an eyesore. you're trying to be humble, i get it. but rather i think you're very berlagak in the most subtle way. and THAT annoys me.

there's just this one person, i don't know, i just seem to hate him. yeap, it's a he. huhu. and i am not feeling guilty of what i feel now because lotsa people think the same. so don't blame me. blame him for being an annoying shit. it's not that i easily get annoyed but seriously, this guy his words omg urghhh.... maybe i just don't like goody two shoes people. i think they are the most hypocrite people. konon2 baik. please la. i am big enough to know that there's this fine line between being naturally humble or trying to portray humbleness just so ppl will think you're like that.

and oh, no wonder even lecturers choose someone else to be their R.A and not you, even though you're more popular among the faculty (esp juniors). sometime, being a kiss ass wont work. people do have brains now. and lecturers dont need someone who is too opinionated i guess. diorang pun nak yang 'lek lek sudah'. mcm wakil rakyat dah aku tgk kau ni. tp rakyat benci. hoho.

as what i wrote in my previous post this month started out ...err not so nice. (minus celebrating mama's birthday of course, yang tu always awesome).

a dear friend got into CCU (coronary care unit) .

my brother got into an accident. he's fine, alhamdulillah. but the car...the engine was totalled.

and i am still a mess. i still don't know what i want to do with my life.

mama plus a great family *wink*

had a simple birthday lunch today at Ayam Penyet Ria, Wangsa Maju ( building lots next to wangsa walk). it was great. the food was yummy. and the company, definitely awesome. =)

my family is not the type that will have meals (be it lunch or dinner) together. you know, sitting in the dining room, having specific time for it. we're the type that mama will shout our names and say, 'Audi, abang, ain, yasmin makan!' and we'll go take the food and eat it in front of t.v. and by that, some will turun lambat and some later than lambat. hehe. so it has always been nice, fun (and never ever boring) when we ate lunch/dinner together.

i am grateful that i have such a wonderful family. a SIMPLE yet AMAZING family. they are my life.
